Efusjon is an MLM or Network Marketing business launched in early 2009 distributing a product line of energy drinks. During this review, I critique the efusjon business based on 5 success principles. At the end of the review I rate the probability of success of the efusjon MLM business.

Product and Market:

Efusjon is participating in the rapidly growing energy drink market. The category has seen increasing competition and many ‘me too’ products. However, there have been new categories of drinks which show strong demand for alternatives to the traditional ingredients like Guarana and Taurine. A good example of an alternative product that has been successful is ‘5 Hour Energy’.

Because efusjon uses the Acai berry to create and energy boost for the consumer, it has an opportunity to appeal to a new audience looking for healthy alternatives to the traditional ingredients used. Women, children and baby boomers are categories of consumers who could benefit from these new, healthy approaches to energy and feeling alert. 

5 Hour Energy and efusjon share the concept of avoiding an ‘energy crash’, a phenomenon that occurs with traditional energy drinks. The ingredients within efusjon claim to produce a sustained energy release and prevent the consumer from experiencing the crash effect.

The price of an efusjon energy drink is comparable to other traditional products like Red Bull, Monster and Sobe. Despite being and MLM or business opportunity, efusjon doesn’t overinflate the product price and gouge it’s distributors.

Business Opportunity:

Efusjon is an MLM or Network Marketing business. Traditionally this means high upfront costs for a consumer to participate in the income generation opportunity. However, purchasing the business only costs $30 to join the “Energy Club” and have a chance to generate revenue.

The payment plan consists of an unproven Community Matrix that has several innovative features to drive positive distributor behavior and support early success. The main innovation is ‘matrix overlap’ which occurs when distributors share revenue from positions recruited by members outside their team.

To qualify for payment, a member of the efusjon Energy Club must personally recruit 3 members into their downline. Every member commits to a monthly autoship of 48 energy drinks which costs $120 plus S&H.

The company allows its distributors to purchase 3 positions within the Community Matrix. This gives the distributor a chance to receive income from 3 different positions and multiply their earnings.

Competitors:

Efusjon enjoyed a short period where no direct MLM competitors existed in the Acai berry energy drink category. However, both Xango and Mona Vie have launched similar energy drinks that should be considered.

Mona Vie has over 2 million distributors and poses some threat to the excitement of efusjon. However, there are key differentiators that make efusjon’s long term opportunity for growth more compelling.

Marketing Support:

Efusjon has teamed up with Facebook to provide an innovative marketing system for it’s distributors (not yet released at the time of this review). Each distributor will receive access to a profile ’skin’ that can be applied to their Facebook profile.

The profile skin will give visitors an efusjon brand experience and allow them to learn more about the efusjon business opportunity. The concept is very unique and will drive a more global launch.

Distributors are also provided a replicated website typical for an MLM business of this type. It’s informative and has acceptable back-office features. One thing missing is a way for a distributor to capture a lead from the website home page. So only warm prospects should be sent to the efusjon website.

Summary: 

Efujson is a very easy and inexpensive way for new business owners and entrepreneurs to participate in a fast growing consumer product category.

Both the payment plan and marketing support bring innovations to the MLM and Network Marketing industry.

The payment plan is simple and lucrative and I expect efusjon to enjoy rapid success with an opportunity to sustain growth.
